Useful Tips for Efficient Training

Before jumping into the specifics, here are some useful tips that will allow you to get the most out of your MapleStory training:

  • Use the Maple Guide – The Maple Guide provides recommended hunting zones and monsters based on your character’s level. It’s a quick way to find ideal spots to train.
  • Activate Runes – Rune buffs appear frequently and provide big boosts to experience gained for a period of time. Always stop to activate them when they pop up.
  • Get a Hyper Teleport Rock – Available for mesos on Reboot, these allow you to instantly teleport to any destination on the world map, saving huge amounts of time traveling.
  • EXP Boosts – Take advantage of all available EXP boosts including events, cash shop items, consumables like Monster Park potions, and Bishop’s Holy Symbol skill.
  • Find Burning Maps – Maps above level 100 gain bonus “burning” experience that scales up to 100%. Change channels until you find a fully burned map.
  • Open Portals – Defeating Pollo, Fritto, and Inferno Wolf portals that appear provide large bursts of EXP.
  • Use Battle Analysis – The in-game tool shows detailed experience breakdowns and helps determine the best maps.

Now let’s get into the details…

Levels 1-10: Beginner Job Tutorial

When you first start MapleStory, you’ll go through a short tutorial that varies based on which Explorer, Cygnus Knight, Resistance, Nova, Anima, Flora, Kinesis, or other job you chose. For some jobs, following the tutorial quests will take you all the way to level 30 automatically.

The easiest way to get to level 10 is simply completing all available quests that your job instructor provides. There are no specific training areas or monsters from levels 1-10.

Levels 10-20: Golem’s Temple

Once you complete the tutorial, you’ll want to hunt Flaming Mixed Golems around level 15-19 at Golem’s Temple: Golem’s Temple 3 accessed through portals on the right side of Henesys.

This is one of the best early training areas for all jobs because the golems are easy to defeat, give great EXP for these low levels, and spawn densely on a compact map with multiple platforms. You can easily stay here until level 20.

Some alternative maps to train on monsters from level 10-20 include:

  • Edelstein Strolling Path 2 – Strange Signs
  • Singing Mushroom Forest – Blue Mushmom
  • Garbage Dump: Waste Treatment Plant 1 – Ooze Waste

Levels 20-30: North Forest Green Tree Trunk

At level 20, head to North Forest Green Tree Trunk in Ellinia to hunt Curse Eyes around level 27. To get here, go to Ellinia town and take the portal at the top right, then follow the world map.

This is a much larger map with tons more monsters than Golem’s Temple, allowing faster progression from 20-30. Curse Eyes have low HP and provide great EXP through these levels.

Other options include:

  • Concrete Road: Streetlight Row – Streetlights
  • Garbage Dump: Waste Treatment Plant 3 – Scrap Iron Waste

Levels 30-40: Gold Beach

Gold Beach offers some of the best training from level 30-40 after a recent rework. Previously, each map had set level monsters but now they scale from 30-59 dynamically.

This means you can train on any Gold Beach map efficiently. We recommend Gold Beach: Gold Beach Seaside 2 which has an excellent spawn of Violet Clam Slimes and great platform layout.

To get here, go to Six Path Crossway and speak to Pilot Irvin, then enter the portal on the right side of Gold Beach town.

Other viable Gold Beach maps include:

  • Gold Beach Resort
  • Gold Beach: Golden Beach Shore
  • Gold Beach: Sandy Beach Shore

You can also try the Ellinel Fairy Academy theme dungeon at this level accessed through the Maple Guide.

Levels 40-45: East Pantheon

At level 40, head to East Pantheon: Enchanted Forest to hunt Gravi Stonegars around level 41. These mobs have much higher HP than typical monsters but give significantly more EXP, making this an efficient training spot.

If your character is strong, you can come here as early as level 35. To get to East Pantheon, use the Interdimensional Portal at Six Path Crossway to go to Pantheon, then take the far right portal and follow the world map.

An alternative is Kerning City Subway: Line 2 Area 3 hunting Shades around level 40.

Levels 45-55: Burnt Land

Burnt Land: Wild Boar Land is a huge map populated by Wild Boars and Terrified Wild Boars around level 55. The high spawn rate here makes it one of the best training spots from level 45-55.

Having some mobility and AoE skills helps a lot for this map. To get here, go to Perion town then use the portal at the top and follow the world map.

At level 50 when you unlock Easy Zakum, start killing it daily for a big EXP boost. Track the “[Zakum] Statue of Dread” quest in your quest log.

An alternate map is Riena Strait which opens at level 50.

Levels 55-60: Excavation Site Military Camp 1

Excavation Site Military Camp 1 is hidden off the side of the Excavation Camp Intermission map in Perion. Here you can hunt Skeledogs and Mummydogs around level 62.

This thin map has a portal at the bottom that returns you to the top. Cycle from top to bottom repeatedly using the portal to quickly clear out the entire map.

Many players actually stay until level 65 here since the map is so efficient. To access this hidden map, go to Excavation Intermission Area and enter the open gate by the tower on the right side.

Levels 60-70: Swamp

From level 60-70, train at Swamp: Silent Swamp hunting Copper Drakes around level 66. This is a MapleStory training guide staple due to its ideal size and spawn.

Drakes are located on several platforms which you can cycle through quickly. Be aware that this popular map is often crowded, so you may need to change channels frequently to find an open one.

If it’s too packed, consider moving one map right to Swamp: Humid Swamp where you can still find Copper Drakes. Some players will even stay until level 75 here if sufficiently strong.

Levels 70-75: Orbis Stairway to the Sky I

At level 70 go to Orbis: Stairway to the Sky I which contains platforms populated by Cellions, Grupins, and Lioners around level 71.

This map provides great spawn and two convenient cloud springers on the bottom platform allowing you to jump upwards after clearing each platform.

To get here, take the portal on the right side of Orbis town and follow the world map or use the level 70 Maple Guide recommendation.

Alternatives include Aqua Road hunting Flower Fish and Krip, or staying in Nihal Desert on Drakes.

Levels 75-85: Ice Valley II

Ice Valley II in El Nath is an excellent thin map populated by White Fangs around level 81. Like other top training spots, it contains a portal that lets you teleport back to the top to quickly cycle through the platforms.

Many players will stay here all the way until level 85 since the layout and spawn is ideal. You can use the El Nath danger zone taxi which will take you directly to Ice Valley II.

Another option is Verne Mine hunting Guard Robot L’s around level 84.

Levels 85-100: Sunset Road and Magatia Lab

From 85-100 focus your training at Sunset Road: Sahel 2 in Nihal Desert. This map contains Sand Rats and Scorpions around level 90.

The completely flat layout packed with monsters makes it a favorite training ground through these levels. You can simply walk in a line while clearing the dense spawn. Access it via the portal in middle Magatia then going left twice.

Some alternative maps include:

  • Alcadno Research Institute hunting Iron Mutae, Roid, Neo Huroid
  • Ellin Forest hunting Tree Rods

Both Alcadno and Ellin Forest offer a nice change of scenery from the desert.

Levels 100-105: Normal Zakum and Monster Park

At level 100 you’ll gain access to Normal Zakum which you can fight by speaking to your job instructor in El Nath. Activate a rune before entering and clearing this boss can easily boost you from 100 to 105 in one run.

Monster Park also unlocks at 100 which you can run twice a day via the Maple Guide for excellent EXP. Make sure to take advantage of both of these impactful daily opportunities.

An alternative training map is Leafre East Forest hunting Beetles around level 103.

Levels 105-115: Minar Forest Sky Nest III

From 105-115 focus on Minar Forest Sky Nest III where you’ll hunt Blood Harps around level 107. This is the first training map with a star force requirement (5).

Meeting star force requirements will allow you to deal more damage and gain dramatically more EXP from these mobs.

To reach Minar Forest, use the Leafre danger zone taxi to Dragon Forest Entrance, go left and follow the map. If you can’t take harps yet, try Ludibrium Toy Factory on Robos.

Levels 115-125: Hidden Street and Korean Folk Town

Two options for this range. Hidden Street: Unbalanced Time features Dual Ghost Pirates but has a high 26 star force requirement.

If you can’t meet it, Korean Folk Town: Black Mountain Entrance has Moon Bunnies around 125 and no star force needed.

Hidden Street is accessed through Ludibrium Warped Path of Time top portal. Korean Folk Town is available via the Maple Guide.

Levels 125-135: El Nath Cave of Trials III

El Nath Cave of Trials III is a top training ground featuring Bains around level 136 and a 55 star force requirement. This cavern has great spawn and a teleporter making it very efficient.

You can also try Herb Town on Kru’s and Captains which has no star force requirement.

At 130 you gain access to Easy Horntail for another daily bossing EXP boost.

Levels 135-145: Minar Forest Wyvern Maps

Minar Forest: Black Wyvern’s Nest has an excellent spawn of Dark Wyverns around 141. It’s a large map that requires mobility. Wyverns hit hard but provide great EXP on their defeat.

An alternative is Korean Folk Town hunting Yellow Goblin Kings which have no star force requirement.

At 135 you unlock Normal Horntail for a bossing challenge. It hits brutally hard at this level so upgrading your gear is advised.

Levels 145-155: The Dragon Nest Left Behind

Move deeper into Minar Forest until you reach The Dragon Nest Left Behind 2 which houses Skelosauruses and Skelegons.

These mobs have drastically higher HP at this point but the EXP gain is phenomenal. The map has near perfect spawn and layout. You can shortcut here via Horntail’s portal.

Without significant funding or legion, most players will be stuck here working on gear upgrades through bossing until 155-165. An unfunded option is Kerning Tower Peeved Perm Machines.

Levels 155-165: Time Lane Detour to Oblivion 4

Time Lane Detour to Oblivion 4 is widely considered one of the best overall training maps in MapleStory. It houses Chief Oblivion Guardians around level 166.

You can get here by completing the Pink Bean temple prequests. The platform layout, size, and spawn are incredible. Most players actually stay until 170.

Requires 90 star force. An alternative is Kerning Tower Harried Hair Rollers at 80 star force.

Levels 165-170: Knight Stronghold Armory 2

Knight Stronghold Armory 2 becomes viable around 165 with Official Knight E and Official Knight D inhabiting this map.

They have massive HP pools but provide excellent EXP scaled to match. Requires 120 star force here. You can access through the Gate of the Future.

Without significant funding and legion, most players will still be at Oblivion 4 from the previous section.

Levels 170-185: Mothership Corridor H03

Mothership Corridor H03 is widely considered one of the best maps between 170-185. It houses Gray Luxury Saucers around level 180.

The spawn here is insane allowing you to clear out the tightly packed platforms quickly. Requires 140 star force to be viable.

Access via the Omega Sector taxi then following map transitions into the Mothership interior.

Levels 185-200: Twilight Perion Grind

Twilight Perion: Forsaken Excavation Site 2 becomes your primary training ground from 185-200. This area packs in tons of Sinister Rocky Masks around level 195.

Due to the superb spawn and layout, most players sit here all the way until 200. The mobs have high damage so upgrading your gear is advised.

FES1 and Warrior Grounds are alternatives to swap to when burning gets low on FES2. You can access Twilight Perion via the Gate of the Future.

Levels 200-210: Vanishing Journey to Reverse City

At 200 you gain access to Arcane River which has a force requirement similar to star that allows you to deal more damage.

Starting at Lake of Oblivion: Weathered Land of Rage hunting enraged Erdas is a good early training spot here around 200-205.

As you build arcane force, move to better Vanishing Journey spots like Cave of Repose: Eastern Cave Path 2 for Tranquil Erdas or Extinction Zone: Hidden Fire Zone for Soulful Erdas.

Around 205-210 head to Reverse City which has excellent maps like Subway Tunnel 1 and T-Boy’s Research Train 1 hunting upgraded robot mobs. Work your way up to Strong Seeker T-Drones in the Hidden Research Train map.

Levels 210-220: Chu Chu Island

Move to Chu Chu Island at 210 and hunt at Slurpy Forest Depths which contains frenzied Angry Flyons and Ripe Wolfruits. This long map has superb spawn.

As you gain more arcane force, upgrade to Torrent Zone 1 for Green Catfish and Blue Catfish.

An alternative is completing the Yum Yum Island daily quests which open up excellent training maps populated by Lytone bosses.

Levels 220-225: Chicken Festival 2

At 220 head to Lachelein Night Market: Chicken Festival 2 which houses hordes of Galluses that provide great EXP. This is a prime training map until 225.

To upgrade, gain enough arcane force for the nasty Dreamkeepers at Nightmare Clocktower 2F who can inflict annoying status effects.

You can also try your luck at Yum Yum Island still if you have the arcane force for Potent Lytones.

Levels 225-240: Dig Deep in Arcana

Arcana is the next Arcane River region and home to some of the best maps overall for skill level 225-250 training.

Starting at The Forest of Earth hunting Earth Spirits around 232, work your way deeper into Cavern Lower Path and then down to Deep in the Cavern hunting upgraded spirits as you build arcane force.

Many players remain here until 250 as an alternative to early Esfera maps. You can also mix between Arcana and early Esfera.

Levels 240-250: Mirror-Touched Ocean

While classes with full map attack can still grind in Arcana, most players head to Esfera around 240.

Focus on Mirror-Touched Ocean 2 and Mirror Touched Ocean 7 hunting vicious Arana spiders and the hulking Keeper of Darkness.

These maps are packed with monsters and provide some of the best rates in MapleStory at this level range. Work on increasing your arcane force as high as possible.

Some still prefer to remain in Arcana though until 250 if rates are better for their class.

Levels 250-255: Labyrinth of Suffering

To unlock the best end game training, complete Esfera quests until you gain access to Labyrinth of Suffering in Tenebris.

Here you can hunt elite enemies like the gigantic Dark Miscreation and Dark Construct on maps like Interior 5. These twisted monsters hit hard but pack a big EXP punch.

This challenging area serves as a damage check and stepping stone to prepare you for the deep depths of Limina and max level 275.

Level 255-275: Limina End of the World Grind

At 255 you can finally access the pinnacle Limina region, home to the best training spots and rates all the way to 275.

While multiple areas of Limina are viable, End of the World 1-5 stands above the rest as the premier grinding map in MapleStory.

Here you’ll slaughter Ascendions and Foreberions in a no holds barred battle to 275. Having 2x 250% EXP coupons running here is advised.

Limina represents the final grind to max level cap. Make it through this war of attrition and you’ll stand at the apex of what MapleStory has to offer.

Maximizing MapleStory Training

Now that you’ve seen the best training areas broken down level by level, let’s recap some key tips to maximize your rates and efficiency on the way to 275:

  • Use 2x EXP Coupons always when possible
  • Rotate between two maps when one has lower burning
  • Adjust based on your rates – try harder maps with more arcane/star force
  • Find ideal farming rotations and patterns
  • Prioritize one shot killing monsters
  • Use Erda Nova when you have it
  • Activate every available EXP multiplier
  • When you plateau, focus on upgrading gear through bossing
  • Training with a Bishop or Kanna alt provides a crucial damage bonus

Mastering these techniques along with finding optimal maps will propel your rates to new heights as you climb to the pinnacle of MapleStory.

Monster Collection System

MapleStory has a vast monster collection system that catalogs the hundreds of enemies you’ll encounter while training. Defeating monsters adds them to your collection, with rarer ones requiring more kills to register.

Having monsters registered gives you permanent account-wide stat boosts, so it ties directly into character progression. Some key notes:

  • Try to max common monsters early for quick stats
  • Work on bosses when you can for big stat bonuses
  • Registering monsters gives exploration Maple Points
  • Use the huge stat boosts gained to help with training

It’s beneficial to have the mindset of constantly expanding your monster collection while you train. Defeating multiple of the same enemy while hunting at a spot contributes steadily to collection growth.

While not mandatory, focusing on filling out your monster collection will speed up the training process by making your characters demonstrably stronger over time. It synergizes well with the training guide locations highlighted.

Reboot vs Regular Server Training

This guide is designed to work for both Reboot and regular servers. However, there are some key differences:

  • Mobs are much tougher on Reboot – expect to train below recommendation
  • Need significant Legion/Link skills to match rates on Reboot
  • Regular servers can have easier time funding gear to access maps
  • Reboot will generally have more competition for popular maps

Despite increased difficulty, Reboot does not have a pay wall impeding progression. With diligent training, bossing, and Legion building, players can still reach 275 powerfully.

In either server type, the journey to max level is a monumental but rewarding undertaking. Your server choice will shape your approach, but the destinations remain the same.

Final Thoughts

And with that, you have a complete roadmap to reach level 275 in MapleStory! This guide covers the optimal routes, monsters, and maps to train across this expansive open world.

While the journey will be long and difficult, taking the time to level up and improve your character is an integral part of the MapleStory experience.

With hundreds of hours of content, you’ll never run out of lands to explore or foes to conquer. I hope this guide serves you well – see you at the top!
