Balsamic Glazed Salmon with a twist!

Earl Grey Balsamic Glazed Salmon Recipe (1)
When I’m in the kitchen, it’s basically my therapy, I love to try out new flavors and take an ingredient typically used for one thing and experiment using it in a unique way. This time I decided to play around with Earl Grey tea and switched up my already tasty Balsamic Glazed Salmon recipe.

For this salmon recipe, I first made a concentrate using one of my favorites, Stash Earl Grey Tea. Stash Earl Grey Tea has a pure, clean taste of bergamot flavor balanced beautifully with a perfectly roasted black tea, making my Earl Grey tea concentrate a rich base for the balsamic glaze.

Starting with the Earl Grey concentrate, I then whisk in a bit of honey while the tea is still hot so that it gives the honey a chance to melt. Next, I add in the Balsamic vinegar and the remaining glaze ingredients, making sure it all is incorporated well, then I set it aside until the Salmon is ready.

Making salmon is simple, and you don’t have to be intimidated by it. This salmon recipe can be ready and on the table easily in under 30 minutes, maybe even in 15 minutes if you’re super stealthy. With 3 kids, I fall in the middle somewhere on a good day, but on a crazy day … well, I have no words.

This glazed salmon recipe is ideal for entertaining, it’s elegant with yet simple to make.

My family really enjoy richly flavored meals, and this balsamic glazed salmon recipe is a winner in our house. I tend to mix up the sides, some of our favs are simple salads, asparagus fries, and roasted veggies like this roasted radish recipe.

This is the ideal dinner that can be enjoyed for any get-together, dinner party or simply for a weeknight.

Here’s how to make Balsamic Glazed Salmon with an Earl Grey twist.

Earl Grey Balsamic Glazed Salmon Recipe (5)

Yield: 4

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

An elegant meal, perfect for entertaining, Earl Grey and Balsamic Glazed Salmon. It's easy to make, and full of amazing flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. Honey
  • 1/4 c. Balsamic vinegar
  • 4 tbsp. Earl Grey tea concentrate (made with Stash Earl Grey Tea, recipe below)
  • 3 tbsp. Extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 4 (6-oz.) Salmon fillets, patted dry with a paper towel
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 Cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Lemon, sliced
  • 2 Spring onions, diced, to garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, balsamic vinegar, Earl Grey Tea concentrate. Set aside.
  2. In a large cast iron or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the salmon skin-side up. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Cook the salmon until it has a nice color and is a deep golden brown, about 3 - 4 minutes (depending on thickness). Flip over the salmon carefully.
  3. Now add in the minced garlic, cooking for about 30 seconds (don't let it burn). Next add the balsamic and Earl Grey mixture, and cook until sauce is reduced by about one-third, occasionally baste the salmon with the sauce to allow it to glaze, cooking about 3 minutes.
  4. Garnish with diced spring onions and lemon slices if desired.

Serve and Enjoy!

Notes

To make the Earl Grey tea concentrate, use 2 Stash Earl Grey teabags, brewed in 1/4 cup of freshly hot boiled water. Leave to brew for about 5 - 10 minutes. While it's still warm, you can add in the honey for the glaze during this time if you prefer, as I do, and continue with directions above.

This recipe is perfect to scale up the amount of servings needed for entertaining, simply double the glaze ingredients which can be used for serving up 10 - 12 guests. Just add the amount of salmon fillets needed, 1 (6 oz) salmon fillet for each person.
